Light It Up!
All Church
Halloween Outreach 2026
Once again, Edgewood is going on mission for Halloween — right from our own front yards! On Saturday, October 31, instead of gathering at the church building, we're inviting every family to Light It Up and be a blessing to the children and neighbors who come to your door.
Inspired by Matthew 5:14 — "You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden" — and Edgewood's call to Go, this is your chance to live out your faith in the most practical, joyful way possible: turn on your lights, open your door, and love your neighbors.
Here are some simple ideas to make your night meaningful:
- Pray for your neighbors by name before the evening begins
- Turn on all your outdoor lights as a visible sign of welcome
- Set up lawn chairs in your front yard and greet families as they arrive
- Be extra generous with candy — it goes a long way!
- Play uplifting music to set a warm, welcoming atmosphere
- Grill hot dogs or serve hot chocolate for an extra-special touch
- Prepare gift bags for neighbors who don't come to your door
- Snap some photos and share them on social media with #lightitup
Keep it as simple or as creative as you'd like — the goal is simply to be present, be generous, and be a light. We can't wait to see how Edgewood shines this Halloween!
